Karnataka has increased the number of NRI-quota MBBS seats available in its government medical colleges from 57 last year to 105 for the current admission cycle.
The quota, previously offered across nine government institutions, is now available in 14 colleges. It has been applied to additional seats approved at institutions whose overall intake has increased.
According to the published admission information, an NRI-quota seat in a Karnataka government medical college is priced at ₹25,09,350. Institutions including Mysore Medical College and the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubballi are among those reported to have introduced seats in this category.
The expansion provides more choices to eligible NRI candidates and their dependants. It does not remove the requirement to qualify through NEET-UG, participate in the prescribed counselling process and submit valid documents establishing eligibility for the NRI category.
Candidates should verify the final seat matrix, eligibility conditions, tuition and document requirements through Karnataka’s official counselling authority before selecting an institution.
