The Embassy of India in Sofia has invited applications for the 89th Know India Programme, scheduled to take place from September 15 to 29, 2026.
The programme is designed to introduce young members of the Indian diaspora to India’s cultural heritage, democratic institutions, economy, technology and development. Activities generally include institutional interactions and visits to places of historical, cultural and economic importance.
The Sofia mission’s announcement lists eligible participants as PIOs, OCI cardholders and NRIs between 18 and 23 years of age. Applications must be submitted by August 27, 2026.
Since general information published elsewhere by the Ministry of External Affairs has previously listed different age parameters for some KIP editions, candidates should verify the requirements for the 89th programme directly with their nearest Indian mission before applying.
Applicants may also need to satisfy requirements concerning Indian heritage, previous participation, passport validity, health and supporting documentation.
