WASHINGTON — The United States and China extended their trade truce until January 10 as President Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping for a three-day state visit. Under the arrangement, both countries will continue reduced tariffs and refrain from introducing specified new trade restrictions.
Formal discussions cover Taiwan, artificial intelligence, critical-mineral exports, agricultural purchases, Iran and military communications. No comprehensive trade settlement had been announced.
