Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella has received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the United States’ highest honour for technological achievement.

President Donald Trump presented the award during a White House event recognizing prominent figures in science and technology. Nadella was honoured alongside Dell Technologies chief executive Michael Dell.

Born in Hyderabad, Nadella studied engineering in India before continuing his education and career in the United States. The medal represents a major professional milestone for the Indian-origin technology leader and recognizes his contribution to American innovation.
