Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party government for spending a whopping Rs 24 crores on advertisements in its first month.

“The Aam Aadmi Party government is surviving on the Oxygen of Publicity which it purchases for almost Rs one crore a day”, Warring remarked while referring to the government’s lavish advertising budget.

He said, “since the government has nothing credible to its credit for survival, it keeps on pumping in crores of rupees to maintain its oxygen levels lest it gasp for breath, which certainly is not a sign of its good health”.

“You only need to spend this much money in your initial days when you realize that you have miserably failed the people”, Warring remarked, while pointing out, there is an atmosphere of fear prevailing across the state and people are being forced to pay ransom.

“Ransom calls and threats are being reported from all over the state and this government is indulging in extravagance and showing all is well”, he said. The PCC president pointed out, it was the same party, which had promised before the elections that it would cut all extra expenditures. “May I ask the Chief Minister what was the need to spend so much money on advertisements that too in your initial days”, he said, asking, “what happened to your promise of paying Rs 1000 every month to every woman in the state?”
