In an incident of crime, a 25-year-old woman in Ludhiana suffered an acid attack by some unidentified youths on Thursday night. The incident occurred at Tibba Road in Ludhiana.The tragedy occurred when two youth knocked at the gate of the house and called out the girl’s name.
As soon as she came near, they splashed a 5 litre can containing acid on her.Although she received 25 per cent burn injuries, her condition is critical as the maximum harm was caused on the chest. Some acid spilled into her mouth and different parts of her body till the feet have been affected.The assailants had their faces covered.
The girl was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital, from where she was referred to the CMC Hospital. Her mother was home when the incident happened.Notably, the girl had got engaged four days ago on November 12. The police are working on the angle of unrequited love.The girl’s father works in a hosiery and she has two brothers.The victim did her graduation and a tailoring course in Uttar Pradesh. She had come back to Ludhiana a few days ago and started her tailoring work from home.
