–INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA WAS CELEBRATED ACROSS THE STATE IN ALL DISTRICT HEAD QUARTER
–STATE LEVEL FUNCTION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA WAS CELEBRATED AT SAS NAGAR
CHANDIGARH: International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the state in all district head quarter with full enthusiasm. ‘Yoga improves the health and many ailments can be prevented by adopting Yoga in our daily life. Yoga keeps body and mind healthy. This is a free gift of India to world.’ It was the motivational message delivered by Mr. Brahm Mohindra on the occasion of International Day of Yoga while exhorting people to adopt Yoga as a daily way of routine.
State Level Function of International Day of Yoga was celebrated as per the Common Yoga Protocol from 7.00 am to 8.00 am at Sports Complex, Airport Road, Sector -78, SAS Nagar Mohali as per the directions and guidance of Minister of Health & Family Welfare. To benefit the people of state at large department of Ayurveda has started training on Common Yoga Protocol in various state government departments in association with various NGOs. Approximately 700 participants participated in state level function of International Day of Yoga. Which included Senior Citizen, School Children, Officers/Officials of various departments and NGOs besides local public. Suitable arrangements were made by Ayurvedic Department and District Administration SAS Nagar Mohali for people to perform yoga in a befitting manner. Dr. Jaspal Kaur Director Health Services Punjab, Joint Director Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Additional Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Mohali, SDM Mohali, Dr. Rakesh Sharma Director Ayurveda, Dr. Bakhshish Singh Joint Director Ayurveda, Dr. Sanjeev Goel Registrar, Board of Ayurvedic & Unani System of Medicine Punjab, Dr. Chandan Kaushal District Ayurvedic & Unani Officer SAS Nagar Mohaliand Ayurvedic Medical Officers/Officials of Ayurvedic Department Punjab has performed Common Yoga Protocol in addition to officials/officers of Home Department, Education Department, Jails Department, Punjab Armed Police and members of other non-government organizations . Training sessions, workshops and seminars were conducted on Common Yoga Protocol in various departments of Government of Punjab like Home Department, Education Department, Jails Department, Punjab Armed Police and other non-government organization for about last two months.
