Amazon plans to hire 55,000 people for corporate and technology roles globally in the coming months, the company’s new CEO Andy Jassy told Reuters on Wednesday.

The new hires would represent a 20% increase in Amazon’s tech and corporate staff, who currently number around 2,75,000 globally. Amazon’s annual job fair is scheduled to begin on September 15 this year.
