Recently, a tongue-in-cheek proposal has received a large number attention not just from folks across the internet but state lawmakers too.
After the U.S. National debt rises to more than $22 trillion(about Rs 1500 lakh crores), a man identified Lan Hammond launched a petition on a website ‘Change.org petition’ to sell America’s Montana State to Canada.
The petition explains the reason saying, “We have too much debt and Montana is useless. Just tell them it has beavers or something.”
Some people said on the website that Montana’s population is quite small and many people here consider themselves as different from the United States.
On a serious note, State lawmakers in Montana even debated the topic as the petition demanded to sell Montana for $1 trillion to eliminate the national debt.
Nearly, 13,000 people have signed the petition to sell Montana on Change.org petition.
