Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr Balbir Singh Sidhu here today gave the appointment letters to 160 candidates. The function was held at the residence of the Health Minister. Mr. Husan Lal, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab was especially present on the occasion.
Giving details, Health Minister said that 160 appointment letters issued today under the Ghar-Ghar Rojgar Yojna of Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. This includes 102 radiographers, 52 OT assistants, and 6 ECG technicians. All appointments under the department are being made based on merit transparently.

Mr Sidhu congratulated the newly appointed staff of the Health Department and their families and urged them to discharge their responsibilities honestly and diligently. He expressed that the image of the government system has to be improved and good services have to be provided to the people and the staff who have rendered good services will also be honoured. He said that during the coronavirus, the staff of the health department has performed their duties responsibly and the staff who have done a good job have been honoured.

The cabinet Minister said that more than 7000 jobs have been created in the Health Department under the Ghar Ghar Rojgar Yojna which includes 249 specialist doctors, 375 medical officers, 35 dental officers besides paramedical and other staff on regular basis. In addition, under NHM Punjab, Specialists, paramedics, and other staff have been recruited. About 4,000 more appointments will be made in the next few months.

Mr Husan Lal, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare welcomed the newly appointed staff to get jobs in the Health Department. He said that all the appointments have been made in a transparent manner based on merit. He said that the department has largely controlled the corona pandemic and the disease is not over and hundreds of cases reported daily. Therefore, to avoid corona, wear a mask, wash your hands from time to time, and strictly follow the rules of social distance.
On this occasion, Baba Bakala MLA Mr Santokh Singh Bhalaipur, Director Health Services Dr. Manjit Singh, Director Cooperative Bank Mohali Mr. Harkesh Chand, and other officials were present.
