Chandigarh: On behalf of the State government and the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Food and Civil Supplies Minister Punjab, Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu today received and accorded a warm welcome to the Union Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Mr Ram Vilas Paswan at Chandigarh airport.
In a short informal interaction with the Union Minister, Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu apprised him of the State Food Supplies issues. He underscored the pressing need to mobilize clearance of the previous years’ food grain stocks piled up in the State godowns by FCI and also requested to expedite the solution to the issues pertaining to the need for rationalizing the gaps in CCL especially in the light of close co-ordination, discipline and better fiscal management by the department.
