Newsdesk – Two people died in a shocking incident when a Gurudwara in Kabul was stormed by unidentified gunmen who opened fire at the Sikh Religious shrine.

Two dead are identified as Ahmad who was a security guard at Gurudwara and Sawinder Singh aged 60 years resident of Ghazni.

Abdul Nafi Takor , a Taliban appointed spokesman for interior ministry has confirmed the attack on Gurudwara. The reports say there could be more casualities which could be ascertained only after getting inside the building but the ‘saroop’ of ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ is taken out safely without any damage.

Meanwhile, there is no immediate responsibility taken by any outfit or group till now.

According to the reports there were around more 20 people belonging to Sikh community inside the building premises. Rounds of blasts could be heard from Gurudwara Karte Parwan in Kabul.

According to the official spokesman for Kabul police chief , one Sikh man and one guard of Taliban security force got killed in the incudent whereas seven others are injured, he added.

Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee president Harmeet Kalka taking on his twitter account said ‘A Gurudwara was attacked in Kabul people were made hostage, 1 granthi was killed. Blasts and firing happened there. We appeal to government to take care of minorities in Afghanistan. Government of India has assured  to help people with their visa to come to India.

Meanwhile a spokesman of External Ministry of India said that they are deeply concerned over the incident and monitority the situation for the detailed report.
