Commemorating the Constitution Day, the office of Chief Electoral Officer Punjab today declared the winners of an online quiz competition organized on the theme of “Constitution based approach to Democracy” through a Facebook live event.

It was organized with an aim to ensure that the constitutional provisions are understood well by the citizens by creating a forum for discussion & deliberation in the light of Constitution of India. Aimed at creating a familiarity with the constitution, 27 articles were shared on social media on a daily basis and subsequently 8 videos were shared to summarize these articles.

Dr. S. Karuna Raju, IAS, CEO, Punjab urged people to become more vigilant citizens and equip with knowledge about Indian constitution, which is the core book according to which Indian government and democracy is deemed to be run. He declared the winners in the Faceboook live event. The names of the winners are as below:

Mrs. Madhvi Kataria, IAS, Additional CEO Punjab said that for a living of equality and dignity for all Indians irrespective of caste, gender, religion, economic status, our democracy must be run with a constitution based approach. This alone would transform the current system into the independent democracy for which our freedom fighters made supreme sacrifice to end the British imperialism. She disclosed that 2977 participants took part in the online contest and further said that the overwhelming response has given further boost to the efforts of the department to carry out the campaign with greater zeal. She also mentioned that the new quiz would be open for Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) of Punjab.
