Chandigarh – A new development in Punjab Congress unit is the letter written to Highcommand Sonia Gandhi to take disciplinary action against Navjot Sidhu. Of course , this time again, the letter is written by Punjab Incharge Harish Chaudhary.
Yesterday, the political strategist Parshant Kishore taking on his twitter handle gave clear indications for floating a new political outfit in coming days. In his Twitter post, PK has mentioned of meaningful participation in democracy and help shape pro people policy. He also said that to better understand the people’s issues, it would be better to go among public and he mentioned to start from Bihar.
Immediately after, Navjot Sidhu Sidhu writes a post on his Twitter account and supports PK idea by tagging his post along with his own. Navjot Sidhu is continously writing posts on Twitter to share his ‘model’ of ideas.
Sidhu was asked to submit his resignation from the post of Punjab Congress president post after recent Assembly Elections. Sidhu was not the only one to resign but the presidents of other four states where Congress lost elections did the same.
Now, Navjot Sidhu is under cosideration of disciplinary committee and action could be expected in coming days. A few days back , Former Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar is taken down from all the positions he has been holding in the party fold.
The newly elected president of Punjab Congress Raja Warring has been giving statements after his appointment that no congress worker or leader is above the party and discipline is mandatory. Warring introduced 3-D in his first press conference after holding the party office and shared the idea in press conference. He said that every congressman will have to follow discipline , dedication and dialogue ‘mantra’. He said that action would be taken against those who work towards weakening the party.
Sidhu met with Governor along with a few former congress MLAs and reacting on this, Raja had said anyone has the right to move and speak and raise voice. This is Congress, he added.
The infighting in congress unit is not coming to halt. With 18 MLAs to its side, congress is the main opposition party in Vidhan Sabha and senior leader and former Member Parilament Partap Singh Bajwa is elected as Leader of Opposition. But congress party still needs to formulate a formula for the stability within the party. The role of opposition as a ‘Watchdog’ and ‘Whistle blower’ can be performed firmly only if unity and unimormity within the partyfold is maintained.
