Chandigarh, The Punjab govt has renamed four govt schools after freedom fighters and martyrs under its educational institutions renaming policy. Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla has today given his nod. Divulging further, Mr. Singla said that the state govt has taken this initiative to recognize the unique work of the eminent personalities, martyrs and freedom fighters etc., to preserve their legacy and to magnify their respect in the society.

Education Minister informed that Govt High School, Sadda Singh Wala (Moga) has been renamed as Ghadri Baba Bishan Singh Hindi Govt High School, Sadda Singh Wala. Likewise, Govt High School, Amloh Road Khanna (Ludhiana) was named as Raghbir Singh Freedom Fighter Govt High School, Amloh Road Khanna (Ludhiana) and Govt Middle School Rauli (Rupnagar) as Shaheed Kulwinder Singh Govt Middle School, Rauli, while Govt Primary School, Sherpur Sodhian (Sangrur) has been renamed as Shaheed Baljeet Singh Govt Primary, Sherpur Sodhian. Notification in this regard would be issued shortly, he informed.
