Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday asked the newly appointed Chairmen of the various boards and corporations to ensure that benefits of public welfare schemes are percolated to people at grass-root level.
Chairing a meeting here at local Punjab Bhawan, the Chief Minister said that the state government has started several pro-people and development oriented schemes for the people of the state. He said that the Chairmen should ensure that these benefits reaches upto people at ground level. Bhagwant Mann said that it the need of the hour to ensure that maximum people can derive the benefits of these schemes of the state government.
Dwelling on another agenda, the Chief Minister asked the Chairmen to submit a detailed list of vacant posts in their respective boards and corporations. He said that based on this the state government will soon embark a major recruitment drive exclusively for filling vacant posts in the boards and corporations. Bhagwant Mann said that the vacant lying posts are adversely affecting the working of these board and corporations.
The Chief Minister said that the recruitment drive will help in streamlining the working of these boards and corporations on one hand and providing regular government jobs to youth of the state on the other. He also asked the Chairmen to regularly monitor the working of their boards and corporations to benefit the people in a big way. Bhagwant Mann reiterated the commitment of state government to ensure well being of people adding that no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause.
