
NEW DELHI/ODESA, July 22, 2026 — Four Indian nationals were killed and another was critically injured when a commercial vessel was attacked while departing the Ukrainian port of Odesa, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said.
The incident occurred on July 19 aboard the Golden Leo, a Guinea-Bissau-flagged cargo ship carrying Indian and Syrian crew members. Indian officials said the country’s diplomatic mission in Ukraine was monitoring the situation and assisting those affected.
