NEW DELHI, July 22, 2026 — At least 25 people have died after torrential monsoon rainfall triggered flash floods and landslides across northern and northeastern India, according to officials. Rescue teams continued searching affected areas on Monday as forecasters warned that further heavy rain was likely.
At least 15 deaths were reported in rain-related incidents across Poonch, Rajouri and Doda districts in Indian-administered Kashmir. Several people remained missing at the time of reporting.
