There was a time when women belonging to economically weaker sections used to face transportation difficulties among other things but now the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has provided free bus travel in government buses. Which has benefited the women a lot and the biggest thing is that this facility has proved to be a boon for the women related with economically weaker sections. Now they can easily move from one place to another to do their work. This was stated by Meenu, a resident of Mohali who was going to board a bus from Mohali bus stand and thanked the Punjab government for this decision.

Similarly Arvinder Kaur, a resident of Mohali also thanked the Punjab government for this facility and said that this facility has solved many problems related to the movement of women. Along with her, women from Mohali and Sohana Meena, Simarjit Kaur, Swaran Kaur and Sapna also lauded the decision of the Punjab government.

Talking further about this facility, the Chairman Market Committee Kharar and Political Secretary to Health Minister Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhlikallan, said that this facility was benefiting the women belonging to the economically weaker sections in a big way. He said that the Punjab government had taken a number of steps for the betterment of women and by fulfilling the promises made to the people in phased manner, the state government brought the state out of precarious financial situation.
