Naomi Watts Cast as Lead in ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel
Home Box Office (HBO) announced on Wednesday that actor Naomi Watts will be leading the cast of a “Game of Thrones” prequel series.
The two-time Oscar-nominated actor Watts is the first A-lister to join the prequel of the hit series.
50-year old Watts will be essaying the role of a “charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret”.
The new show will be placed thousands of years before the events of “Game of Thrones”, according to the American network.
The show will record the fall of the world from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.
The official logline of the show read: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East, to the Starks of legend.
