Heading the Bangkok Restaurant Gaa, Chef Garima Arora has been awarded the prestigious Michelin Star.
It has been claimed that she is first Indian woman who made it to the list and to get the honour.
Indian chef was born in Mumbai and launched Gaa in the year 2017 in Bangkok.
Gaa is the only restaurant in Bangkok helmed by an Indian woman, with the prestigious title of a Michelin-starred restaurant in its pocket.
Garima even tried to bring Indian-Thai cross culture through her restaurant’s menu.
Having worked with prominent Chefs Gaggan Anand, René Redzepi and Gordon Ramsay, Chef Garima is an alumnus of Le Cordon Bleu.
However, before stepping into the world of cuisines and culinary and deciding to become a celebrated chef, the 30-year-old chef Garima had also tried her hands on Journalism.
While announcing the winners, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, Gwendal Poullennec was quoted saying in an official blogpost, “This year’s guide is a reflection of the growing talent in Thailand’s culinary scene with many new restaurants added to the selection, including 13 specialising in Thai food, reinforcing Thailand’s reputation as a go-to destination for gastronomy.”
