The government has increased price of natural gas by 62%, the first increase in rates since April 2019.

Rates paid for gas produced from fields given to ONGC and OIL will be $2.9 per million British thermal unit for October-March. The hike could result in a 10-11% rise in CNG and piped cooking gas rates in few cities, sources said.
