Doctors in Punjab government-run hospitals went on a day-long strike on Friday due to which OPD services were affected in several facilities.

The doctors were protesting against the recommendations of the state’s sixth pay commission that is linked to non-practising allowance and pension benefits. A senior official said emergency services and COVID-19 related work continued despite the protest.
