Difference between words and deeds of the Congress government, which made false promises to the people, came to fore once again
Why doesn’t Jakhar, who plays drama on every issue, talk about diesel, petrol and road tax imposed by Captain government: Aman Arora
Chandigarh:The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemned the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder government for increasing the road tax on the purchase of new vehicles. In a statement issued from the party headquarters, senior leader and MLA Aman Arora said that the Captain-led Congress government makes promises to the people and takes decisions contrary to it. He said that rising inflation was already making life difficult for the people of Punjab and on the other hand Captain Amarinder Singh’s government was imposing more burden on the people by increasing taxes. Arora said that there was a big difference between the words and deeds of the Captain government which had now come to the notice of the people.

He said that the increase of 1% road tax by the Captain government would put more burden on the pockets of the people. “Earlier people were paying 9% road tax and now they have to pay 10% tax, whereas earlier when the people bought the lowest priced vehicle, they were paying 7% tax, but have to now pay 8% tax. The Captain government has always been misleading the people,” he added. Arora said that on the one hand, Congress was playing tricks by protesting against the hike in oil prices by the central government and on the other hand Captain’s government was looting the people through taxes like PM Narendra Modi government.

He said that the Congress president Sunil Jakhar was playing tricks by protesting against the hike in oil prices by the Union government but he did not utter a single word against the recent imposition of cess on diesel and petrol by the Captain-led Congress government. The AAP leader said that the Congress was playing double standard politics. Arora said that the people of Punjab were facing the biggest dilemma at the moment.

He said that on the one hand, Modi, due to his dictatorial attitude, was imposing taxes on the people of Punjab to suppress the farmers’ movement and slashing the funds available to Punjab and on the other hand, the Captain government in Punjab, like the Modi government, was doing its job and imposing more taxes on the people of Punjab, thus harassing them. Arora said that all the big promises made by Captain Amarinder Singh before he came to power, was not fulfilled and he was instead always working with an intention of putting more burden on the people.
