Chandigarh – A huge protest seen in the campus of a private university nearby Chandigarh when some girl students revealed their MMS videos while bathing on internet platforms.
Hundreds of students came out on roads inside the campus and started hooting and raising slogans for justice.
In a very awkward incident, in prelimary reports it has come to light that a girl student living in campus hostels made videos MMSes of 4 students and send to his know man supposedly a resident of Shimla. The alleged man uploaded the video MMSes on internet those got viral. When the girls saw there videos on internet they went in shock.
In a video, it is seen that authorities are questioning a girl student inside an enclosure and she has revealed that she used to make videos of other girl students for his male friend , a resident of Shilma. But later , it came up that the accused girl has more than 60 videos of girls but whether she has sent all to the man in Shimla or not, it is yet to be investigated.
In some other videos, students have gathered outside in the premises of the university and protested all night, the reports say. It has also come forward that the university authorities are trying to supress the issue.
After this shocking revelation, girl students are reportedly tried to hurt themselves and a few others are admitted in hospital and one another girl student got collapsed.
Reports coming in say the police has detained the accused girl in the hostel room and questioning is on. On the other hand , police said the protest was carried out by the student yesterday night but now the situation is under control. Police is investigating into the matter but no case has been registered till the filing of this news report. No official statement or version has been given by the university authorities on this issue yet as well. In the meantime, the collapsed girls have been taken to the hospital.
The Jails and Education Minister Harjot Bains taking on his twitter account has appealed the Chandigarh University students to remain calm, no one guilty will be spared, he said.

UPDATE – SSP Mohali Vivek Sheel Soni interacting with media on the issue said that no suicide attempt was made by any student. A girl made video but the details of the matter still under investigation. He said the students gathered and started protesting in the campus as some rumours got floated regarding objectionable videos made by a girl student. He requested not to believe on rumours as the matter is under investigation and case has been registered. A gazetted officer is deployed to look into the matter, he added.

An official statement of Punjab Government has been released condemning stating that there was no suicide attempt by any girl student in the university. The statement came after the incident of objectionable videos viral hue and cry by the students in the campus.
