Indian women’s Hockey Team Reaches world cup quarter final after 40 years.

India women played their best hockey of the FIH world cup in London on Tuesday to beat Italy 3-0 in the crossover match and booked their place in the quarter-finals of the showpiece event.

A 9th min goal from Lalremsiami put India ahead early and neha Goyal added the cushion in the last minute of the third quarter.

It’s for the first time since Madrid 1978 that India is among the top eight of a world cup. They finished seventh 40 years ago.

Well they couldn’t do that much good in their farther matches .Only Reena Khokhar scored for India in the shootout. India stay content with their third top-eight finish in a world cup.
