Representatives of Textile dyeing industry assures Environment and Science Technology Minister for full support
Chandigarh: Industries have an important role in the development of the state, but the development won’t be at the cost of environment. It was stated by Environment and Science Technology Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer during a meeting with the representatives of the textile dyeing industry.
During the meeting, the industrialists assured full cooperation in the efforts being made by the state government to protect the environment. The minister also assured the industrialists that they will not be harassed unnecessarily by the department, regarding which he has instructed the officials of the department thus paving the way for an industry friendly environment.
Meet Hayer said that ensuring a clean and green environment for the future generations is the joint responsibility of us all. He said that continuous efforts are being made by the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to check environment pollution. Along with a complete ban on single-use plastics, many other projects have been launched, including curbing industrial pollution and cleaning the Budha River.
The industrial representatives demanded that the treated water should be arranged for the industries which have installed treatment plants. On this, the Minister Meet Hayer reiterated that there will be no compromise on the environment issue and the department will adopt a positive approach to address the legitimate demands of the industries that follow all the rules.
