Widespread internet failures may be experienced by the users as the key domain servers are scheduled to undergo routine maintenance over the next two days.
According to news reports, the main domain servers and its related network infrastructure will be slated for a while due to which the global internet users may undergo network connection failures.
ICANN (Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers) will perform the maintenance work by changing the cryptographic key which will help protect the Domain Name System (DNS) or internet’s address book.
As per ICANN, this has been necessitated to deal with the growing incidents of cyber attacks.
The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), in a statement, said, “To further clarify, some internet users might be affected if their Internet Service Providers (ISPs) or network operators have not been arranged for this change. But this impact can be avoided by enabling the proper system security extensions.”
The internet user could face difficulties in opening web pages or making any transactions in the next two days.
Moreover, the users could face problem in gaining access to the global network if they use an outdated ISP (Internet Service Provider).
