Chandigarh – While stressing for strict action against the sale of China Dor, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Sapeaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has also emphasized the need to educate children about the deadly effects of this cord so that children do not use this thread for flying kites.
Sandhwan said that the China Dor is deadly not only for kite flyers but also for people wandering around. Many lives have been lost with it so far and now it must be avoided from further deadly damage. He said that parents, teachers and other prominent people should play a role to make children aware about the dangerous effects of this dor. He said that if a child wants to fly a kite, then a simple cord should be used for this purpose so that it does not harm passers-by, birds and animals.
Sandhwan has asked the administration to take strict action against the sale and use of China Dor. It may be noted that so far 176 FIRs have been registered against china dor sellers in the state and 10269 bundles of china dor have been recovered. So for, 188 persons involved in selling this dor have also been arrested.
