British-Indian peer Lord Rami Ranger has been allowed to pursue a judicial review of the decision to withdraw his Commander of the Order of the British Empire honour.

Ranger’s CBE was revoked in October 2024 following a recommendation through the honours-forfeiture process. He subsequently challenged the decision in court.

According to The Times of India, Justice Nathalie Lieven ruled that the decision could be examined by the courts because the forfeiture process involves established procedures.

The ruling opens the way for a full legal review. It does not reinstate Ranger’s honour or determine whether the original decision was justified.
