-Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal himself supervised the removal of illegal encroachment from 29 acres of village Abhipur in Mohali: Jai Kishan Singh Rori
Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has welcomed the drive launched by Bhagwant Mann government to vacate the illegally encroached panchayat lands in the state. Welcoming this step, AAP MLA Jai Kishan Singh Rori said that the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister of Punjab Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal had launched the drive today and freed 29 acres of panchayat land in village Abhipur of Mohali district. He added that this valuable piece of land falls under Majri block and is very close to New Chandigarh.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Thursday, MLA Jai Kishan Singh Rori said that panchayat lands in various villages across Punjab including Mohali district have been illegally occupied by political leaders and other influential people which has been costing Punjab and the people for so long now. But now the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is taking action to free these Panchayat lands from these people. Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal executing this decision of the Chief Minister today freed the 29 acres of illegally occupied land in Mohali district.
He said that this much needed drive has been started by the Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal’s supervision from village Abhipur so that the administrative officers would not face any problem. MLA Rori said that the drive to remove the illegal encroachment of Panchayat lands has been commenced and by May 31, thousands of acres of land in the state would be freed as the Punjab Government was committed to remove illegal occupants from all the Panchayat lands in the state. He said that encroachments would be removed without any discrimination and these lands will be handed over to the Panchayats.
