Administration directed to focus on awareness generation
SAS Nagar, May 4: On the directions of State Government, Mrs. Jaspreet Talwar IAS Secretary Water Supply and Sanitation, in a special visit to SAS Nagar reviewed the COVID-19 preparedness of the district.Delving deep into the arrangements made at the tertiary, secondary and primary care facilities and the Covid Care Centre established at Chandigarh University(CU), Mrs. Talwar took stock of the men and material pressed into operation at each facility.She asked the administration to prioritize the tertiary care and maintain an inventory of standby teams. ‘Map and keep’ the details of doctors, nurses, anesthetists and volunteers handy to be prepared for any eventuality, exhorted Talwar to the officers concerned .
Expressing satisfaction over the preparedness,Talwar however directed the administration to focus on awareness generation. She insisted that citizens aware of basic protocols can help in checking the spread of pandemic. She advised the administration to prepare in vernacular the do’s and don’ts for home quarantine people and distribute /advertise them. She said that such information pamphlets maybe provided to each person put in home quarantine so that the concerned family can take care of the potential patient in a safe manner. Circulation of short and simple video clips on the cautions to be observed during home Quarantine was also suggested.Repeated sharing of information regarding helpline numbers especially that of Health Control Room, ambulance facility, immunization and institutional delivery facilities available as well as thetimings of OPD in various health facilities should be disseminated, said she.
