Nirbhaya’s parents impetus HC to expeditiously decide Centre’s intercession against stay on culpable execution, On Tuesday Nirbhaya’s parents impetused the Delhi High Court to expeditiously decide the Centre’s persuasion challenging stay on execution of the four culpable in the case of their daughter’s gang rape and murder. Advocate Jitendra Jha, representing the parents of Nirbhaya, given name of the victim, he mentioned the matter before the court for early disposal of the government’s plea, said. Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, who had on February 2 inclined order on the Centre’s persuasion after holding special hearing on Saturday and Sunday, the decision would be passed at the earliest, said.

January 17, The trial court, issued black charters for the second time for the gibbet of all the four accused in the case — Vinay Kumar Sharma (26) Mukesh Kumar Singh (32), Pawan Gupta (25) and Akshay Kumar (31) — in Tihar jail at 6 am on February 1. Earlier, on January 7, the court had fixed January 22 as the hanging date. On January 31 the court again stayed the gibbet as the counsel for three convicts — Pawan, Vinay and Akshay, On Jaunary 31 — impetus it to adjourn the matter “sine die” saying their legal cures were yet to be fagged.

The Centre and Delhi govt challenged the trial court’s order staying the gibbet.
