Chandigarh: In a unique initiative to prepare Jail Inmates especially women for mainstream of society after completion of their imprisonment, training course of Assistant Beauty Therapist was initiated for them at Women Jail, Ludhiana under Punjab Skill Development Mission.
Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana Surabhi Malik and Additional Mission Director, Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training Rajesh Tripathi on Friday inaugurated the Skill Training to Jail Inmates of Women Jail, Ludhiana under “Sankalp Scheme” of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
On the occasion they distributed Books and Induction Kits to inmates undergoing course of Assistant Beauty Therapist. Meanwhile, ADC (D), Ludhiana Amit Kumar Panchal, AMD, Punjab Skill Development Mission Rajesh Tripathi, Project Coordinator, Punjab Skill Development Mission Parvinder Kaur, Superintendent Jail Rahul Raja, Deputy Superintendent Jail Chanchal Kumari, Director, VCO Skills Pvt. Ltd. Dipinder Singh Sekhon and CEO, VCO EduSkills Pvt. Ltd. Maneet Dewan encouraged the inmates to start their new life with the help of this initiative of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
The dignitaries encouraged the Jail Inmates to learn the skills with full dedication and start a new life after completion of their imprisonment. This training program is of 390 hours and daily 4 hours training is being imparted. Practical Lab for the same is established at the premises of Jail.
After completion of training, assessment will be conducted by third party assessment body. Candidates who successful passed the assessment will be given Certificate and Rs. 2500 in their bank accounts by Government. Punjab Skill Development Mission through its Training Partner VcO EduSkills Pvt. Ltd. is conducting skill development courses at various jails in the state of Punjab i.e. Faridkot, Ferozepur, Bathinda and Amritsar etc.
