Chandigarh – In a statement, the Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema clearing his government’s stand on the SYL issue asserts “the state has right on the water of its land. Not even a single drop of water will be given to any other state. We are ready to do any sacrifice if needed he adds.
Taking on to the opposition parties, he says its really surprising that the leaders of political parties those are actually responsible for present situation of SYL dispute are questioning our government.
He says the state government is chalking out polices and plans to save ground water. He says the governments that ruled in the state whether it is Akali – BJP or Congress are responsible for dropping of ground water level and also responsible for the river water pollution. He clearly says the water of Punjab will remain in the state itself and no drop of water will be given to any other state.
