SAN FRANCISCO — OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, a specialized product intended for investment banks, research teams and other financial organizations. It combines the company’s latest artificial-intelligence model with data from providers including LSEG, PitchBook and Daloopa.
Morgan Stanley and Evercore helped shape the product as design partners. OpenAI says it can assist with financial research, analytical models and client documents while connecting with existing services such as FactSet, S&P Global and Preqin.
The platform includes encryption, access controls based on employee roles and tools for exporting activity logs into compliance and audit systems. Its effectiveness and accuracy in real-world financial work will require independent assessment.
Why it matters: Financial institutions handle confidential information and operate under strict regulations. Wider use of generative AI will increase scrutiny of data protection, accuracy and accountability.
