The non-governmental organization ‘Save the Children International’ said on Friday that at least one lakh children die every year due to war and its effects. This includes effects such as hunger and not getting help. According to an estimate in the report of NGO, 5.5 million children died in the war-torn country between 2013-2017 due to the war. The organization’s Chief Executive Thorring Shimmed said in a statement: “About one in five children is living in endangered areas. This is the biggest number in the last two decades. ‘
Save the Children said that he had studied with the Peace Research Institute in Oslo that 42 million children were living in endangered areas in 2017. It is 18 per cent of the total number of children in the world and has increased to 30 million children in comparison to the previous year. These endangered areas include Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Congo, Iraq, Mali, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria and Yemen Yemen.
According to the report, the death of these children is due to war and its effects, which include losses due to hunger, hospitals and infrastructure, lack access to health care, sanitation and help.
