Chandigarh: A Common Committee of Director level officers from Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL) and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) has been constituted to resolve the issue of promotions of employees of both the corporations, informed Mr. G.S Kangar, Power Minister Punjab after meeting the delegation of Grid Sub-station Employees Union in his office at Civil Secretariat, here today.
He informed that the Union has expressed concern over the stagnation in promotion due to conflict between promotion of the fresh recruits of PSTCL and the employees of PSPCL working under agreement in Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited but having the parent cadre in PSPCL.”The demands of the employees are genuine and need to be redressed at the earliest,” said Mr. Kangar and added that the Common Committee constituted to resolve the issue has been directed to come up with the report within a period of one month.
Giving an instant relief to the Union, the Minister promised to fill up the undisputed vacant posts of over a hundred Junior Engineers (1) from the existing Junior Engineers (J.Es) via promotion, within a fortnight.
It is pertinent to mention that 1889 different posts have been filled in PSPCL in the recent past along with153 appointments on compassionate grounds. Besides, fresh recruitment to 488 posts in PSPCL is also in the pipeline.
Besides others, Er. Baldev Singh Sran, CMD PSPCL, Mr. Venu Prasad, Principal Secretary Power, Mr RP Pandov, Director (Admin) PSPCL were the present on the occasion.
