Congratulating all the officers for bagging this award, the Minister said that as a part of the “Digital Citizen Services First” approach, PMIDC has been working tirelessly to digitize citizen-centric municipal services in the ULBs of Punjab. He said that right from the start, PMIDC has always been focused on easing the lives of citizens through innovation and strategic partnership with eGovernements Foundation has really made this possible. Under the eGovernance project of Local Government, Municipal Services have been built on open source egov Platform (DIGIT) and all these services have been implemented by developing internal capacity.
The Project covers all 167 ULBs across Punjab and aims to achieve better utilization of Government resources though uniform and well-defined work procedures and provide efficiency & transparency in delivery of municipal services to citizens, he said.
Mr. Brahm Mohindra added that PMIDC, on behalf of Local Government Punjab has taken up an ambitious project to drive e-governance across ULBs in the state and implemented the same with its own capacity and no cost has been paid to egov foundation. He said that through this project citizens of the state are enabled to access municipal services anytime, anywhere. Such services also have a direct impact on ‘ Ease of Doing Business’ ranking for the state.
