-Presents commendation certificates to two head constables
Chandigarh: The traffic wing of the Punjab Police has initiated a unique way of honouring its personnel who shows exemplary zeal during duty to save the lives of citizens and making the roads safer as well as congestion free.
Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Punjab Police said one traffic police employee would be selected on the basis of feedback received from the citizens and be honoured as the ‘police personnel of the week/month’. In this regard, citizens could tweet, send e-mails, post comments on Punjab police web portal or even send a message on Whatsapp to the officers with photographs.
He added that the selected person would be handed over commendation certificates/cash rewards by the ADGP/Traffic based on the feedback. The certificate would be titled as “you make the difference”, he informed.
The spokesperson divulged that the first such certificates were given to two head constables (HC) Gurdhian Singh (No. 381/SAS Nagar) and Gurdev Singh (No. 396/SAS Nagar) based on the recognition of their work by the Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh and DGP Punjab Suresh Arora as per the feedback provided by known cine star Ms. Gul Panag. It is mentioned here that the duo traffic personnel were controlling the traffic even during the rain at Zirakpur and Panag sent her feedback with photographs to the CM who have forwarded it to the DGP to honour the cops.
He further said every month valuable suggestions for improving traffic and road safety from the citizens would also be appreciated by presenting a similar certificate. “This would encourage a positive interaction between the citizens and traffic police to make Punjab roads safer and congestion free true to the motto of the traffic wing “Together we can”, he affirmed.
