Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a historic decision to make Punjabi mandatory in Aptitude Tests with 50 percent marks for government jobs recruitment examinations. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab MLA Gurdev Singh (Dev) Mann stated that making Punjabi a compulsory topic in the recruitment of government posts has been a long-standing demand of the people of Punjab.
The AAP government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has met this demand of the people. Nabha MLA Gurdev Singh Mann said in a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Wednesday that the people of Punjab had been demanding for a long time that Punjabis be given priority in government posts in the state. Therefore, the Chief Minister has made it mandatory to pass the Punjabi subject exam with more than 50% marks in the recruitment process for around 26,000 government jobs in Group C and D.
MLA Gurdev Singh Mann stated that there is a wave of happiness among the youth seeking government jobs as a result of the Punjab government’s major and historic move. The Mann government’s decision has given the youth renewed optimism for getting government jobs. He said that the AAP government is always taking pro-Punjab decisions that the people of Punjab wholeheartedly support.
