DUE TO DIRECTIONS OF PUNJAB GOVT REGARDING COVID 19, ALLOTMENT LETTERS BEING DISTRIBUTED TO BENEFICIARIES THROUGH OFFICIALS DEPUTED IN REGIONAL OFFICES
Ludhiana, March 16: With an aim to uplift the standard of living of Scheduled castes living in the state, the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development & Finance Corporation provides loans at much lower rates of interest under different welfare schemes of the Punjab government. Besides, Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government, under its Ghar Ghar Rozgar Scheme, is also making unemployed and well-educated youth from Scheduled Caste community self-dependent.
Corporation Chairman Mr Mohan Lal Sood informed that on the occasion of 550th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Cabinet Minister Mr Sadhu Singh Dharamsot had set a target of disbursing loans with Rs 550 lakh, whereas this target was achieved surpassed as loans amounting to Rs 906.29 lakh to 541 beneficiaries were passed.
He informed that the allotment letters were to be issued to the beneficiaries by organising a state-level function, but following the directions of Punjab government regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19), now, the allotment letters are being distributed to the beneficiaries through the officials deputed in Corporation’s regional offices.
He also thanked Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for waiving off loans worth Rs 45.41 crore of Scheduled castes and said that it has benefitted 14270 beneficiaries in the state. He also thanked the state government for releasing Rs 579 lakh as share capital of central share and Rs 108 lakh as the state share. Mr Mohan Lal Sood further stated that under the Bank Tie-up scheme, a grant amounting to Rs 150 lakh has also been released.
