Sudan: Protests against the increase in bread prices in Sudan, eight people were killed in clashes with riot police in eastern parts of the country on the second day.
The government’s decision to increase the price of bread from one Sudanese pound to three Sudanese pounds is being opposed since Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses said on Thursday that the protests reached Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, where police forces tear gas from the presidential palace to disperse the crowd.
According to the local broadcaster, six people have been killed and several others injured in the eastern city of Al- Qadarif, Al-Tayeb al-Amine Tah.
In the death toll, a university student was included.
A city lawmaker Mubarak al-Nur, says that the situation in Al-Qadarif was out of control and student Moayed Ahmad Mahmoud was killed.
Al-Nur appealed that the force should not be used against the protesters as they are protesting in a peaceful manner.
