-MANSA DISTRICT LEADS IN TWO FIELDS
CHANDIGARH: Rural development and Panchayat department of Punjab has bagged 6 silver Skoch awards for taking new initiatives in the use of information technology to implement the development and welfare schemes of the department to ensure the reach of maximum benefits to the villages.
Congratulating the department officers and officials Rural development and Panchayat minister Mr. Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that the department has been instructed to ensure the proper use of information technology as it not only saves time in administrative works but also produce transparency at every level. Hailing the efforts of department officials, the minister said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has adopted zero tolerance policy against corruption and Information technology has played a significant role in it.
Meanwhile Nodal officer of the department, Dr. Rosy Vaid said that the awards include the field in E-court, shamlat portal and effective implementation of Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojana. These awards were presented at New Delhi.
She also said that the Mansa district has received two awards for maintaining Natural Park at Khokhar Kalan and implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana schemes.
It may be mentioned here that the Skoch group invites application from across the country for remarkable initiatives in various fields and the winner of the awards were decided by the experts of the concerned fields.
She also said that the parks established at village khokhar Kalan in Mansa has brought the district at tourist map of the state as it provides the facility of open air theatre, which was used for shooting of Pollywood movies and Pre-wedding shootings at large.
