Chandigarh/Badal – Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee selection of president elections are scheduled to be held on November 9. Rattled by the former president Bibi Jagir Kaur Rebillion, the incumbant president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami is the candidate announced by SAD.
The president of Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal asked Bibi Jagir Kaur to withdraw her candidature as party has announced Dhami as candidate for SGPC president election.
Sukhbir Badal is meeting SGPC members and party workers in this context. In the same manner, he has met party leaders at his village Badal.
Sukhbir said , “Had a wonderful interaction with the party leaders visited me at village Badal today. Heard their suggestions and concerns to strengthen the organisation.”
It is mentionable the party has suspended Bibi Jagir Kaur and the suspension orders are issued by the chairman of SAD disciplinary committee.
After suspension, Bibi gave six point reply and said the party has not proposed name of any candidate so if she has moved hers, it could not be considered anti party activity.
Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur has denied to pull out from the SGPC president election. She claims that the members and party workers in a big number are in her support.
