The Supreme Court has ordered the Senior Superintendent of Police in Punjab’s Tarn Taran to provide protection to a live-in couple whose plea was turned down by Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The HC had observed that such a relationship was ” morally and socially unacceptable”. “Since it concerns life and liberty, the SP is required to act expeditiously,” said SC.
