Chandigarh, May 21: As the matter of deployment of teachers as duty magistrates in Gurdaspur district to monitor supply of liquor from factories came into notice of Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, the minister immediately intervened and got the orders cancelled. The cabinet minister also asked other Deputy Commissioners not to depute school teachers on such types of duties except from emergency Covid duty. Mr. Singla said that though the schools are not being opened, teachers are regularly taking virtual classes through various mediums including Whatsapp and other internet based applications.
