NEW YORK, August 5, 2026: The Sikh Coalition has announced its first nationwide virtual professional-development conference aimed at helping American educators represent Sikh identity, beliefs and experiences more accurately in K–12 classrooms.
Titled The Mosaic of Light: Chardi Kala & Everyday Courage, the conference is scheduled for October 10, 2026, from noon to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Participation will be free, although advance registration is required.
According to the organization, the programme will provide teachers with practical resources for strengthening religious literacy, addressing prejudice and creating safer learning environments for Sikh students. Sessions will explore religious identity, cultural adaptation and inclusive teaching through Sikh experiences.
The event is being organized during National Bullying Prevention Month. Teachers are its primary audience, but community members interested in the accurate inclusion of Sikhi in public education may also participate.
The conference is an independent educational initiative. It does not introduce a mandatory curriculum or change any federal or state education policy.
