Chandigarh: Punjab Education Minister Mr. Om Parkash Soni has taken strong exception of the incident of attempt to rape of a six-year-old girl by her teacher in Government Primary School in Sanaur of Patiala district. The Minister strongly instructed the Education Secretary Mr. Krishan Kumar to stern departmental action against the accused. The Education Minister said such acts would not be tolerated at any cost.
This incident happened on 6th July and came in light, when the victim told her parents, who reached the school with the Sarpanch. Meantime, the teacher locked himself in the school room. When the accused came out, villagers have beaten him vigorously. Police have registered a case against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
