Chandigarh: Former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini is facing legal action. Although Saini was last released after his arrest, the High Court has again issued a notice to Saini on the recall demand of the Punjab government. The court has sought a reply by October 7.

Saini was arrested in a disproportionate assets case. He was later released on the order of the High Court but the Punjab government approached the High Court against the release and filed a recall demand. Hearing the demand, the High Court has issued notice to Saini.

It is learned that Vigilance clarified its position on FIR No. 11 and 13 and said that the arrest was made as per FIR No. 11. About which a state of superstition arose. It will now be decided on October 7.
